Storm Dennis has devastated our lakes at Larford.
Arriving on the Sunday morning of the match, the river severn had burst it’s banks and put in an extra 10’ of water destroying the stages and leaving the specimen lake totally unfishable.
We did however manage to re-peg using the Match & Arena Lakes, so managed to stage the qualifier. Because of the conditions, a number of the anglers failed to show and 43 actually fished the match.
Despite the desperate conditions, good weights were still recorded and it was polish rod Pezmek Solski winning the match with 145-3-0 from peg 32 on the Match Lake .
Prezmek fished the hybrid feeder with micro’s and his own special waffter hook baits landing carp and F1’s and qualifying for his second Golden Rod Final.
2nd on the day was John Aldridge from peg 46 on the Match Lake.
John fished the hybrid feeder down his edges to land prime carp that tipped the scales at 112-0-0.
3rd placed Eric Hall drew peg 64 on the Match Lake landing a fine bag of carp and F1’s weighing in 100-8-0.
Eric fished down his edge and short on the method with micro’s and various waffter hook baits.
4th placed John Jones (Burt Baits) drew peg 48 on the Match Lake and led a late charge and was unlucky not to qualify.
John fished the method short with waffters landing good carp and F1’s to finish the day with 97-12-0.
Fifth in the frame was Garry Watling from peg 2 on the Match Lake with 85-2-0.
Garry caught short and down his edge with method and corn.
