Last year 10 venues sold out within 3 hours, demand was very high for this competition.

Feeder fishing is now a very popular angling style and fits into the competitor’s diaries well as events like this one will present an opportunity to fish during the autumn and early winter period when feeder fishing can be at its best.

Each 60 peg qualifier will send 3 anglers (1 per zone of 20) into the Grand Final which will be fished at Larford Lakes on Saturday 25th March and Sunday 26th March 2023.

Golden Rod Feeder Championship 2022/23

Press Release

Tickets are certain to be in great demand with many of the chosen venues selling out within the hour.

There will be a total of 22 qualifiers, all 60 peg matches with 1 qualifier going through to the Grand Final from each zone of 20.

So in total, 66 anglers will fish the two day final at Larford Lakes on Saturday 25th March and Sunday 26th March 2023.

There will be 6 sections of 11 angler per section per day fishing the final and will be scored on a points basis.
In the event of points tie the championship will revert to the best overall 2 day weights.

Due to ever increasing overheads such as peg fee increases, fuel costs, admin, accountancy and website cost increases plus general running costs, the ticket price will have to increase to £45 per ticket.

The increase only reflects the current climate, which unfortunately is beyond our control.

The slightly later Grand Final (April) should provide better conditions for all the field of finalists making for bigger weights and comfortable fishing.

We will be  keeping the pay-out the same with the top 10 being recognised .

The overall final prize fund-

1st will collect £10,000

2nd will collect £6,000

3rd will collect £4,000

4th will collect £3,000

5th will collect £2,000

6th will collect £1,500

7th will collect £1,000

8th will collect £600

9th will collect £400

10th will collect £300

In addition to the overall prize fund, the final will also pay £150 for the section winners each day.
There will be 6, 10 peg sections each day x 2 day final.

So in total, the prize fund will be a massive £30,600*
