All 60 pegs sold out for the popular Moorlands farm qualifier. High Meadow, Moors, Bank Pool & Meadow were all divided into 20 peg zones.
Conditions today were not ideal with a stiff cold wind lashing all the lakes and highs of 6-7C.
Winner today and progressing to the March Final was Welsh star, Dan Hook who drew peg 12 on the Meadows Lake.
Dan fished the method & waffter hook baits landing a superb bag of carp and F1’s weighing in 109-13-0 which was more than 40lbs clear of his nearest rival.
Second overall was Kioran Rich from peg 5 on the Meadow Pool.
Kioran fished a small cage feeder with waffter picking up some large carp to weigh in 65-10-0. Kioran was unlucky not to qualify but was drawn in the same zone as the overall winner.
Third in the frame was Steve Hanrahan from peg 3 on High Meadow.
Steve fished a method with corn hook baits landing a fine 53-10-0 of carp and F1’s and further booking his place in the March Grand Final.
Fourth placed Craig Whittaker was so close to a final placing drawing next to Steve Hanrahan and falling just 1-4-0 short of a zone win with a weight of 52-6-0 from peg 2 on High Meadow.
Craig fished the method feeder with corn and waffter hook baits.
Fifth overall was Darren Cox from peg 14 on the Moors Lakes.
Darren fished a small maggot feeder with dead reds as the hook bait, landing 43-10-0 and a zone win.
