High water levels due to substantial rain fall and cold water temperature was always going to make for a tough qualifier.
The venue had also been frozen until almost Christmas eve so the Match Lake was clear of colour.
The Specimen Lake was well coloured due to the levels rising and the Arena was also well coloured.
All that being said, weights were still impressive.
Winner on the day and progressing to the March Final was Craig Whittaker who drew peg 21 on the Match Lake.
Craig fished waffter with a hybrid feeder loaded with micros, landing 90-5-0 of carp, F1’s and bream.
Second overall was Simon Paker from Specimen Lake peg 10, landing 85-13-0 made up from some large carp and bream all caught on the hybrid feeder fished long with various waffter hook baits. Simon progresses to the March Grand Final.
