Following a month of ice ups, a flood and consistent heavy rainfall, todays qualifier was always going to be difficult in terms of big weights.
Pegging was 20 anglers on the Match Lake (1 zone) 30 anglers on the Specimen Lake and 10 on Arena Lake.
Winner today was Paul Twigg who drew peg 13 on the Match Lake.
Paul found the going tough for the first 4 hours of the match but later found carp in numbers feeding down his edge and weighed in 71-15-0 to win overall and claim his place in the March Grand Final.
Paul caught all his fish on the hybrid feeder and waffters.
Second overall was Mark Deacon from peg 16 on the Match Lake.
Mark fished a hybrid feeder from the Grass Bank, weighing in 62-3-0 of carp and F1’s all caught on waffrer hook baits.
Third to frame was Andy Crocker from peg 12 on the Match Burr.
Andy was the clear leader for most of the match but found bites difficult to come by in the last hour.
Andy fished a small hybrid feeder with a single dead red as hook bait, weighing in 59-11-0.
Fourth overall was Charlie Simpson from the Match Burr on peg 14.
Charlie weighed in 55-5-0 of mainly edge fish all caught on the hybrid feeder with dead reds and waffter hook baits.
Fifth to complete the top five was Sam Williams from peg 9 on the Match Grass Bank.
Sam caught on the hybrid feeder long with waffters weighing in 38-9-0.
