Firstly my apologies in that I was unable to attend this latest qualifier due to my vehicle breaking down at 6am on Sunday morning.
A big thank you to Aaron and his team for stepping in to run the event on my behalf.
As I understand things, temperatures were around 8C with a strong wind with heavy showers. Although conditions were far from ideal, some good weights were recorded. All 60 pegs on the day were taken.
The winner on the day was previous Golden Rod Champion Nick Speed who drew peg 51 on Benny’s.
Nick was the comfortable winner with 84-8-0 of carp and F1’s all caught on the hybrid feeder and waffters.
Second placed Alex Robinson drew peg 46 on Bonsai and also fished the hybrid and waffters weighing in 73-13-0 and a place in the March final.
Third overall was Alex Dockerty from peg 54 on Benny’s.
Alex fished the hybrid feeder and waffters, weighing in carp and F1’s.
Fifth to frame was Martyn Carpenter from peg 49 on Bonsai with 60-2-0.
