Again, another complete sell out with 60 anglers locking horns in the hope of making a Grand Final placing.
The first heavy frost, plummeting temperatures to minus 4C over night. Also heavy overnight rain and day temperatures hardly reaching 5C all day.
Needless to say, bites were hard to come by and it was a sit and wait for the few fish that wanted to feed.
Winner today and progressing to the March Final, was les Marshall (Dynamite) who drew peg 22 on the Oak Lake.
Les kept things simple, casting a small method feeder loaded with micro’s to the far bank and fishing various waffter hook baits.
Les landed an all carp catch that tipped the scales at 97-9-0.
Second overall was Alex Docherty (Drennan / Dynamite) who drew peg 5 on the Horse Shoe Lake.
Alex caught casting tight to the edges with method and waffters to record an all carp catch of 75-6-0 and also booking his place to the Grand Final.
Third to the frame was Matt Burkinshaw (Burts Baits / Loxley Fishery).
Matt fished the method across with micro pellet and various waffter baits weighing in 73-12-0 from peg 13 on Horse Shoe.
Fourth place Ben Fisk (Matrix / Dynamite) drew peg 15 on the Yew Lake.
Ben caught on the method down his edges, catching on various waffter hook baits and went on to weigh 69-1-0.
