A sell out 60 peg opened the first of the qualifiers here at Larford Lakes.
Pegged on both the Specimen and Match Lakes, conditions on the day being a low of just 4C first thing, increasing to 18C.
Winner overall was Andy Kinder (Maver) who drew peg 3 on the Specimen Lake.
Andy started short on the hybrid feeder with waffters taking a couple of early carp and a few skimmers.
Later casting down his edges with dead red maggot hook baits, Andy went on to land a number of good carp, best going to 20lbs to win with 131-7-0 and securing his place in the March 23rd Grand Final.
Second on the day was Ryan Wilson from peg 12 on the Match Lake.
Ryan cast the method to the point of the island with waffter hook baits weighing in 108-15-0 and also winning his zone of 20.
Ryan progresses to the Grand Final.
Third in the frame was Max Higgott from peg 13 on the Match Lake with 94-2-0.
Max fished short with the method and waffter baits, landing carp & F1’s.
Fourth overall was Neil McKinnon (Preston) who drew peg 18 on the Match Lake.
Neil fished the method short and down his edges with waffters bagging 89-6-0 of carp and F1’s.
Fifth placed Ray Lamb drew peg 37 on the Specimen Chalet bank catching some quality carp and bream to the method feeder and waffters weighing in 88-11-0.
Ray caught most of his fish down the margins.
