Golden Rod Feeder Championship Qualifier No 11 Southfield Reservoir 21st December 2019

A near sell out of 56 anglers faced a difficult and moody Southfield Reservoir.
Conditions on the day were not ideal with highs of just 6C and heavy rain all week, reducing water temperatures substantially.
Most, if not all the competitors chose to fish small cage feeder with maggot, pinky and squatt hook baits knowing full well that a bite could win them a section.

Needless to say, the fishing was hard with only odd fish being caught in all the sections.

Winner today was Graham Lewis (Eddy’s Baits) from peg 48.
Graham fished a small cage with Pinkies landing 6-11-0 of skimmers.
Having already previously qualified, Graham was happy enough to pick up the overall 1^st place envelope.

Second on the day was Steve Curtis from peg 44. Steve fished a cage with pinkes and squats netting 4lbs 6ox to secure a place in the match final.

Third placed Charlie Simpson (Bag’em / Leon Grant) progresses to his third Grand Final with a weight of 4-1-0  all caught on a small feeder.
Charlie drew peg 40 and caught on pinkie, squatt and maggot hook baits.

Fourth to the frame was Nick Crookes (Browning) from peg 78 fishing a feeder long with maggot hook baits, Nick managed 3-15-0 to secure a grand final placing.

Joint fifth place went to Steve Walker and Alan Wilson with a weight of 3-8-0.
Alan Wilson drew peg 75 and Steve Walker drew peg 35, both anglers caught on small feeder with maggot hook baits.
