Full 60 attendance for this popular venue. Conditions today were again difficult with a very strong westerly wind driving into the river bank pegs.
Temperatures rose to just 8C but no rain thankfully.
Winner today and making his way to the March Grand Final was Nathan Gooderham (Bait Tec) with a catch of carp and F1’s.
Nathan fished from peg 60 with the hybrid feeder loaded with micro pellet and various waffter hook baits to land 77-0-0 and a zone win.
Second overall was Martin Edis from peg 55. So unlucky yet again not to qualify for the final.
Pegged in the same zone as the overall winner, Martin was only 3lbs 4 oz short of grabbing a final placing.
Fishing the method feeder at 40m with yellow waffter hook baits, Martin weighed in 73-12-0.
Third placed Andy Power (Preston) fished a very tidy match from peg 80.
Casting a method feeder between 45-60m, Andy landed a fine catch of quality skimmers plus a few bonus carp to weigh in 70-4-0.
Fourth to the frame was Paul Twigg from fancied peg 124. Casting between 55-70m, Paul fished a hybrid feeder with waffter hook baits, landing 62-10-0 of carp and F1’s for a comfortable zone win and a place in the March Final.
Fifth overall was Andy Leathers (Browning / HotRods) from peg 58 with 55-2-0 of carp and F1’s.
