As has been seen across the news there has been flooding across the whole of the UK with a month’s rainfall in just a couple of days.
The approach to Barston was difficult with many roads closed and Barston Lakes full to capacity on arrival.
All that being said, the match went ahead as planned with fishing times delayed slightly.
The winner on the day and through to the Grand Final was Polish ace Krzysztof Frackowiak from peg 110.
Krz cast tight to the island with a hybrid feeder and waffters landing 168-6-0 of carp.
Second on the day was Jason Cawthorne who was unlucky not to qualify with 137-0-0 from peg 36 on the riverbank.
Jason caught long on the hybrid feeder and waffters.
Third overall was John Jones from peg 111 with 114-6-0 all to the method, fished long.
Fourth placed Matt Snodin drew peg 94 and fished the hybrid feeder and waffter landing carp and bream to weigh in 107-4-0 and a place in the final.
Fifth placed Rich Toomer drew fancied peg 22 on the riverbank landing 92-15-0 of carp all caught on the hybrid feeder and rewarded with a place in the Grand Final.
