A full house of 60 anglers turned out for this latest qualifier. Conditions were a very cool 10C with a stiff breeze and generally bright with little cloud cover.
Winner today was Adam Wakelin (Daiwa) from fancied peg 124.
As expected, with a big drop in temperature, weights were reduced substantially and Adam qualified with just 64-12-0 of carp, bream and odd F1’s.
Adam fished a long cast at around 60m with a hybrid feeder and waffter hook baits.
Second on the day was Alex Walker from peg 56. Adam fished at 50-60m with a hybrid feeder with both pellet and waffter hook baits landing 55-8-0 of carp, bream and F1’s.
Adams catch was enough to comfortably win his zone of 20.
Third placed Jason Dunworth (Advanced Angling) did enough to comfortably win his zone with 52-5-0 from peg 16 on the river bank.
Jason was casting a hybrid feeder long at between 60-75m and fishing a waffter with micro feed.
Jason also qualifies for the March Grand Final.
Fourth to the frame was George Parker (Bag’em) from peg 52. Casting 50m with the method feeder and waffter hook baits recording 45-2-0 at the scales.
Fifth overall was Jon Arthur from peg 58 on the river bank with 35-12-0.
John fished both the cage and method feeder with pellet and waffter hook baits.
