Specimen & Match Lakes.
A full house of 60 anglers turned out for the second qualifier of the series.
Conditions today were far from ideal as the lakes had been subjected to heavy rain for more than a month.
Water tempeatures had fallen substantially and the levels high with a lack of breeze and air temperatures of around 13C.
This put the fish in a moody condition but some good weights were still recorded.
Winner overall was Phil Canning (Frenzee) from peg 15 on the Specimen Lake.
Phil fished the method feeder at distance loading his method with micro pellets and presenting a waffter hook bait.
Landing quality carp to near 20lbs, Phil went on to record 131-0-0 at the scales and booking his March Grand Final placing.
Second overall was local angler Paul Cook (Frenzee) who drew peg 62 on the Match Lake.
Although Paul had a slow start, he later found quality carp feeding down his edge.
Paul targeted the fish with a small method feeder loaded with micro pellet and waffter hook baits weighing in 102-10-0 and securing the all important 20 peg zone win.
Third placed Paul Bucknall was unlucky not to qualify for the final, finding himself drawn in the same zone as the overall winner.
Drawing peg No76 on the Chalet Bank, Paul fished the method feeder loaded with micro pellet and using both hard pellet and waffter hook baits to record 96-9-0 at the scales.
Fourth overall was Paul Collier from peg 54 on the Chalet Bank.
Paul fished method and waffters to land a carp and bream catch weighing in 78-3-0 and reaching the march final.
Fifth place Ray Lamb (Larford) was so unlucky not to qualify for the final loosing a fish close to 20lbs midway through the match.
Ray finished the day with 74-1-0 of carp to the method feeder just 4lbs short of a zone win…
