A full turnout of 60 anglers on a dark and dismal day.
Gale force winds lashed the lakes, but fortunately the rain held off.
Temperatures on the day were a very cool 7C and overcast all day with an early heavy frost.
Winner today and progressing to the March Final was Kioran Rich (Burt Baits / Middy) who drew peg 10 on the Arena Lake.
Kioran fished short on a cage feeder with dead red hook baits. This tactic produced a number of reasonable carp and stockies.
At the half way point, Kioran switched to his left edge, still fishing a small cage which produced some big carp finishing the day with an impressive 88-14-0.
Second on the day was Dave Berry from peg 40 on the Match Lake.
Dave fished mainly down his edges on a small hybrid feeder with various small waffter hook baits, landing a catch of carp and F1’s that weighed in at 72-12-0.
Dave also qualifies for the March Final.
Third placed Marius Grigaitis drew peg 2 on the Specimen Burr, fishing wafter hook baits.
Marius landed four big carp of 10lbs plus and a few decent bream that scaled in at 51-10-0 for a zone win and a place in the Grand Final.
Fourth overall was Alan Gilding from peg 20 on the Match Lake.
Alan fished a hybrid feeder short and down his edges to weigh in 50-15-0.
Fifth in the frame was Simon Hayes from peg 34 on the Match Lake.
