A full 60 peg sell out for this latest qualifier. Conditions were 6C with overcast skies and no breeze.
Earlier in the week temperatures increased to an un-seasonable 14C and fish were evidently feeding the margins almost like summer conditions.
However Thursday and Friday took a tumble back to highs of just 4-6C so conditions made for a tough winter feeder qualifier.
All that being said, the qualifier produced some excellent weights on all 3 lakes.
Winner today from peg 32 on the Specimen Lake was Rob Coombs with an all carp catch of 97-1-0.
Rob fished long and short with a method feeder and waffter landing carp to 15lbs and booking his place in the March Grand Final.
Second overall, and booking his place in the Final was Martin Tayloe from peg 36 on the Match Lake.
Martin also fished the method feeder casting to the middle of the lake and also short bagging an all carp and F1 catch weighing in 78-11-0.
Third to the frame was Prezmek Solski from peg 40 on the Match Lake.
Prezmek fished short and down his edges with the method feeder and waffters weighing in 76-6-0 of carp and F1’s.
Fourth placed Phil Canning drew peg 28 on the Specimen Lake fishing long on the method feeder weighing in some big carp that weighed in at 64-5-0 all to waffter hook baits.
Fifth in the frame was Dave Burley from peg 13 on the Match Lake.
Dave weighed in 62-12-0, all caught on the method and waffter casting to the middle of the lake.
