A full 60 angler turnout for this latest qualifier with conditions being difficult on the day. Very cold overcast day with a strong breeze and water temperature being just 5C. Needless to say, bites were hard to come by on all the lakes.
The winner and progressing to the final was Neil Jackson from peg 29 on Elm Lake.
Neil fished to the island with a hybrid feeder and waffters, weighing in 23-1-0.
Second on the day was Simon Richardson from peg 33 on Sycamore.
Simon fished a maggot feeder with live reds on the hook to whittle out a bag of F1’s that scaled in at 20-15-0 which was enough to win his 20 peg zone and a place in the final.
Third to frame was Rob Burgin from peg 3 on the Willow Lake.
Rob fished a hybrid feeder and waffters weighing in 20-11-0 and claiming his place in the Grand Final
Fourth placed Andrew Ashington drew peg 33 on Elm, casting tight to the island with a hybrid feeder and waffters weighing in 19-2-0.
