59 anglers booked onto this latest qualifier.
Conditions today were difficult. Highs of just 2C on arrival and only rising to around 5C during the competition.
Heavy rain for a number of days prior to the qualifier which also included heavy snowfall.
Needless to say, many areas proved to be difficult but some decent weights were still recorded.
Winner overall was James Hattersley with 83-7-0 from peg 29 on the oak lake.
James fished a hybrid feeder tight across with waffters or dead reds catching an all carp catch to comfortably win the match and qualify for the March Grand Final.
Second overall was Jason Smith with 73-8-0 from peg 15 on the Yew Lake.
Jason fished the method feeder with waffters tight across landing carp and F1’s.
Although he landed a big weight for the day, he fell short to the overall winner in his zone of 20, missing out on a Grand Final placing.
Third in the frame was Dave Smith from peg 16 on the Elm Lake.
Dave won the zone of 20 with a weight of 44-15-0 made up of carp and F1’s all to the Method feeder.
Fourth placed Tyrone Horne drew peg 13 falling just 2lbs short of a qualification placing with 43-4-0.
Tyrone caught on the method tight across.
Fifth to the frame was Mick Vials from peg 18 on the horse shoe Lake with 41-0-0 of carp all caught down his edge on a Method feeder with wafer hook baits.
Micks weight was enough to clinch the zone win and a place in the March Final.
