Another complete sell out hosting 60 anglers at the popular Barston Lakes complex.
Conditions on the day presented highs of just 12C with light showers and generally overcast.
Winner over the day and progressing to the March final was Michael Buchwalder (Preston) from peg 17 on the River Bank.
As most of the field, Michael fished a hybrid feeder long with waffrer and pellet hook baits landing 9 or 10 carp that weighted in at 93-8-0 for a comfortable victory.
Second overall was Jason Morris from fancied peg 124.
Jason fished the method at distance with various wafer hook baits landing carp and F1’s for a total catch of 79-8-0.
Jason also won his zone of 20 so progresses to the March two day final.
Third overall was England International Steve Ringer (Guru) from peg 99.
As most of the field, Steve fished at around 60m with wafer and pellet hook baits, loading a hybrid feeder with micro pellet, landing 57-10-0.
Fourth to the frame was England International, Dean Barlow (Drennan) from peg 100. Fishing next to Steve Ringer, he fished the same line at around 60m with method and waffter, finishing just 4lbs behind Steve with an impressive 53-7-0.
Fifth placed Kioran Bailey drew peg 58, landing 50-10-0 of bream, carp and F1’s all to the hybrid feeder and waffters comfortably winning his zone of 20 and progressing to the Grand Final.
