Golden Rod Feeder Championship Qualifier No15, Moorland Farm Fishery, Sunday 5th February 2023

A poor turnout for this particular qualifier. Weather on the day was bright, with highs of around 7-8C and a heavy overnight frost had reduced water temperatures further.

Winner on the day was Darren Picton from peg 2 on High Meadows.
Darren fished a small hybrid feeder and waffters, casting to the far bank stage. His catch was mainly F1’s that weighed in at 58-9-0, rewarding him with that vial zone win and a place in the final.

Second overall was fishery owner, Grant Albutt who drew peg 20 on High Meadows.
Grant fished a hybrid feeder with small waffters, landing 57-7-0, just 1lb short of a qualification placing. Grants catch was made up of quality F1’s.

Third to frame was Sandor Szucks from peg 11 on Meadow.
Sandar weighed in 49-10-0 of carp and F1’s and was rewarded with a Grand Final placing.

Fourth overall was John Jones from peg 3 on High Meadow with 48-0-0, all caught on the hybrid feeder and waffter hook baits.

40 anglers booked on for this qualifier with just 35 fishing.
Only 2 zone winners went through due to numbers, so a 20 peg qualifier for 1 zone winner will be fished at Larford soon, watch the Facebook page for details.
