Golden Rod Feeder Championship Qualifier No7 Barston Lake Saturday 23rd November 2019

Yet again, a complete sell out of 60 anglers turned out to a very wet and cold Barston Lakes.
Heavy rain all week added colour and water temperatures had been reduced substantially.
Air temperature today was little more than 6c with very little breeze with overcast conditions for the full five hours duration of the match.

Winner today, from fancied peg 124, was Carl Barnfield with a weight of 89-2-0.
Carl caught on the method feeder fished at around 60 – 75 m with various waffter hook baits. Carl landed carp, F1’s and a few skimmers to finish well clear of his nearest rivals.

Second on the day was Alex Walker from peg 42.
Alex fished the hybrid feeder, fished at 50m with waffter hook baits.
His catch was made up with a few quality carp, F1’s and bream which weighed in at 57-8-0.

Third placed Ivan Winch drew peg 39 returning 51-10-0 to the scales.
Ivan fished bread hook baits on the method fished at 55m. His catch was made up with carp, F1’s and bream.

Fourth overall was Darren Cox (Garbolino / Mainline) who makes his 3rd consecutive final with a weight of 48-4-0  from peg 82.
Darren fished the method at 55m with waffter and boilie hook bait landing carp, bream and F1’s to secure a place in the 2020 grand final.

Fifth to the frame was Craig Whittaker (Mossella / Dynamite North West) with 44-14-0.
Craig drew peg 120 and fished the method feeder at around 50 m with white waffter hook baits.
