Golden Rod Feeder Championship 2023/24 Grand Final Report
23rd & 24th March 2024, Match & Specimen Lakes at Larford Lakes Fishery
The completion of 22 qualifiers across the country came to a conclusion with the final hosting 66 qualifiers fished on both the Match and Specimen lakes at the Larford Lakes complex.
Conditions on Saturday were not good with a big change in the air pressure, a north easterly wind which changed more to a strong easterly as the day progressed.
On top of that, we had a full moon, temperatures starting at just 4C to highs of just 8C.
These conditions did have an adverse effect on the fishing.
Previous practice days including the Friday practice open produced stunning weights on both lakes.
Much lower weights produced section wins on both lakes with 30-40lbs scoring well on day one.
All sections were decided by way of points and in the event of a points tie, the weight was the decider.
The competition was feeder fishing only with carp, F1’s and bream being the target species.
