Golden Rod Feeder Championship Round 1 Larford Lakes Saturday 2nd October 2021

Lakes Match & Specimen, 60 Anglers.

The first round of the ever popular feeder championship kicked off to an absolute flyer here at Larford Lakes.
Conditions couldn’t have been worse with strong winds, heavy rain and a cool 15C.

Despite these conditions, the fishing was brilliant on both lakes. The Match Lake was a zone of 20 with two further zones pegged across the Specimen Lake.

Winner on the Match Lake was Steve Brindley who drew peg 4 on the grass bank, landing a massive 211-5-0 of carp, F1’s and few skimmers.
Steve fished a method feeder short and down his edges alternating between waffter and pellet hook baits landing carp to an impressive 14-15lbs.

Second overall was Andy Fullylove from peg 19 on the burr bank of the Match Lake.
Andy fished the method short and down his edges with both waffter, meat and pellet hook baits netting a superb bag of carp to 15lbs and weighing in 199-10-0.

Third placed went to Alex Walker from peg 20 on the Match Lake.
Alex also fished short and down his edge with the method feeder loaded with micro pellets, which produced 185-9-0 to banded pellet and waffter hook baits.

Fourth in the frame was George Parker from peg 9 on the Specimen Lake.
George fished both short and long line with the method feeder and waffter hook baits landing 30lbs+ of quality skimmers and bream backed up with some typical Speci lumps. George landed carp to 26lbs to finish the day with an impressive 175-1-0.

Fifth placed Charlie Simpson drew peg 3 on the Match Lake and fished the method short down his edges weighing in 133-9-0.
